From my earliest memories I have been awed by nature. I have dabbled in all kinds of creative mediums because I love the spiritual growth that occurs in the creative process.
Fiber has been my focus for the last 20 years because it has the textures, vibrant colors, and asymmetrical dimensions of nature. My tapestries invite you to touch and beckon you to take a closer look. Each piece is designed using two-inch squares sewn together providing a color journey of 100 to 6,000 pieces. Once the fiber canvas is complete the true fun begins, as I hand sew embellishments to reflect the intricate complexity of nature.
I have lived in a handful of states but my coastal experiences are the main influence of my saturated color palate where hand dyed fiber can take your breath away in it’s vibrancy, like a sunset at the beach. I choose fiber because I love dimension. Like a walk in the woods you will journey through a variety of textures and the embellishments will invite your eye to wander in possibilities.
My award winning art has been used to raise money for children, education, health, and historical societies across the United States. You will find my tapestries in the US, Canada & Japan as well as the National Archive as I was honored to design an ornament for the White House and a tapestry for the president in 2008.
